It looks very<br /> similar to Cove Fort only smaller and the building is built right on the spring. He sent Ira Hinckly<br /> (President Hinckley's grandfather) to build the fort. It served as a telegraph relay station, a stagecoach<br /> stop and a rest stop for travelers and church leaders traveling between Northern and Southern Utah<br /> <br /> <img width="450" height="337" src="http://www.rasbandfamily.net/images/articles/20110708135309577_2.JPG" alt=""><br /> Here we are standing in the gateway to the fort. It allows good circulation and keeps<br /> the smoke out. Usually had someone on duty from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM so the usually <br /> telegrapher lived in the same room. The bottles underneath the table are the batteries.
